SWUX – UX hacks, laughs and tears

An open mic night for techies – who’da thunk it? This month’s SWUX meetup is a little more light-hearted and social than the usual get-together. Attendees can share things they’ve seen, heard, done or learned and also ask for help and advice on tricky problems. There’s no obligation for people to show or tell, but everyone’s welcome, no matter your background.

Bristol Java meetup – Introduction and talks

A new group has been created for those interested in discussing Java technologies. Their aim is to meet up every other month to eat pizza, drink beer and talk about things in the Java space. Sound like fun? Then get yourself over there! Since it’s the first one, there’ll be a brief introduction to the meetup structure and two 20 minute talks planned. Topics tbc.

Google Developer Group Bristol – Lightning talks

Bristol JS – Building travel time maps with Javascript

Wednesday 27th August 2014 – 7pm

Where: Engine Shed @ Temple Meads, Bristol, BS1 6QH

Mapumental combines public transport timetables with OpenStreetMap to show all the places you can reach within a certain timeframe. Dave Arter will be showing how Javascript can be used to make this happen.
