3Weeks development time
The spirit of collaboration
The festival aims to raise the profile of Bristol internationally, as well as making tech jobs and entrepreneurship more accessible to local people. It’s a collaborative venture from Engine Shed, Hargreaves Lansdown, TechSPARK, Bristech, The Bristol Technology Showcase, Silicon Gorge, South-west Founders and SETsquared Bristol.
Nick Sturge, Director of The Engine Shed (a hub for businesses, startups and collectives) asked us in March 2019 if we could help build them a bespoke website for their event. Of course, we jumped at the opportunity! We know from running our own events, Smart Cookies (previously Design/Build/Market), how many great connections can be made and insights gleaned when a community comes together.
In a reflection of the collaborative spirit of the festival, we made the project part of our training process for junior developers. Our newest developer created the site from scratch, getting the opportunity to work alongside big names and add a significant project to her CV.
The result is a WordPress site that TechSPARK can easily change or build on. Designed with the end-users in mind, event information is featured prominently and sections are easy to navigate.
“Thanks to all the CookiesHQ team for a fantastic job. We could not have asked for a more engaged, responsive and professional working relationship, as well as an excellent website!”Nick Sturge, Director of Engine Shed
